Executive Assistant
Status: Full-time – requires 40 hours per week of work. Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Position Overview: The Polk Street Executive Assistant is an executive staff member that provides organizational and administrative assistance to the pastors, helps oversee the administrative staff, and operates as a senior financial officer of the church helping the Lead Pastor and Financial Secretary oversee the financial responsibilities of Polk Street.
Supervisor: This position reports directly to the Lead Pastor.

Position Overview: The Polk Street Executive Assistant is an executive staff member that provides organizational and administrative assistance to the pastors, helps oversee the administrative staff, and operates as a senior financial officer of the church helping the Lead Pastor and Financial Secretary oversee the financial responsibilities of Polk Street.

Skills Required:
- Demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Knowledge of modern office procedures and methods, filing, telephone communications, and office equipment, as well as excellent English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Ability to perform secretarial, clerical, office, and administrative duties with speed and accuracy without supervision.
- Ability to quickly learn new computer data entry programs.
- Ability to use a personal computer and various software packages as well as other digital technology and communications.
- Ability to maintain a great working relationship with all co-workers and the general public.
- Proficient to advanced knowledge of accounting procedures and methods, especially as they relate to non-profit organizations, benefits, and payroll.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.

Essential Job Functions:
- Serves as the executive assistant to the pastors in all matters relating to the church
- Develops, types, and copies weekly worship bulletins and bulletins for other special events with the pastors
- Maintains computer based and paper files
- Performs secretarial duties for the pastors such as answering office inquiries, managing calendars, administering emails, and making copies
- Develops, prepares, and sends e-newsletter
- Assists various committee chairs in their responsibilities as needed
- Serves as the church membership secretary
- Assists pastors in administrative duties
- Helps oversee daily financial responsibilities of church in conjunction with the Finance Secretary, CPA firm, and Lead Pastor
- Administers staff benefits programs
- Oversees implementation of the Polk Street internal financial controls, policies, and procedures
- Provides supervision to the office and professional staff
- Actively participates in the staff of Polk Street
- Participates in required weekly staff meeting
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Projects a positive image of Polk Street to congregants and the community.
Receptionist
Status: Full-Time – requires 40 hours per week of work.
Position Overview: The Receptionist is responsible for answering phone calls, addressing inquiries, answering the office door, and providing assistance to the financial staff.
Supervisor: This position shall report directly to the Executive Assistant.

- Assists various committee chairs in their responsibilities
- Assists other church staff in administrative duties
- Prepares and sends birthday cards to church members
- Tracks weekly attendance
- Tracks Polk Street congregants in the hospital and reports them to the pastoral staff
- Directs celebrations of staff birthdays during staff meetings
- Oversees church calendar
- Keeps a clear record of scheduled weddings and communicates regularly with the Wedding Coordinator
- Updates serving lists for various ministries
- Actively participates in the staff of Polk Street
- Participates in required weekly staff meeting
- Performs other duties as assigned
